Marcus Brown is a JSF Colonel, a veteran of Ghost Recon and the current commander of the 5th Armored Battalion.


A college football player from Chicago, Brown comes from a affluent family who wanted him to go into politics, not the military. He dropped out of college to join the military as a form of rebellion, and he loves his job.


Brown started his career as an infantryman in the 2nd Infantry Division. He was deployed with the 2nd to Iraq and was awarded the Silver Star for bravery in action during the battle of Fallujah. After his deployment he went to the grueling selection course for Army Special Forces where he was selected and graduated of the "Q" course. Brown was assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group at Fort Campbell. Brown would later go on to other special forces assignments were he served in Afghanistan and Iraq, earning a Purple Heart and numerous other decorations.

As a part of 5th SOG ("Ghost Recon") he served as a machine gunner under then - Captain Scott Mitchell
