Colonel Marcus Brown of 5th Armored JSF is another officer who served with General Scott Mitchell in Ghost Recon. He left a life of affluence to join the Army and excelled as a soldier. He has seen action in Kazakhstan, Korea, Iraq, Eritrea, Cuba, and numerous other hot zones. His approach to combat operations is direct and unflinching and it has translated well to his command of armored units. Brown is almost always on the offensive.


Brown started his career as an infantryman in the 2nd Infantry Division. He was deployed with the 2nd to Iraq and was awarded the Silver Star for bravery in action during the battle of Fallujah. After his deployment he went to the grueling selection course for Army Special Forces where he was selected and graduated of the "Q" course. Brown was assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group at Fort Campbell. Brown would later go on to other special forces assignments were he served in Afghanistan and Iraq, earning a Purple Heart and numerous other decorations.
