The Sukhoi Su-98 is a Russian fighter jet that appears in the EndWar novel. It is the latest Russian aircraft and widely considered to be the most deadly fighter in Russia's arsenal. It is a single-seat fighter and can carry up to 18,000 poounds (8164 kilograms) of ordnance. One mentioned weapon is the Vympel R-84, the latest Russian air-to-air missile, which is considered by most combat pilots to be one of the most formidable air-to-air missiles in the world. It uses radar homing and had a range of at least hundred kilometres and uses a thirty-kilogram high-explosive warhead.[1]
Four of these aircraft destroyed the two F-35s piloted by Captain Lisa Johansson (callsign Sapphire) and Major Stephanie Halverson (callsign Siren). Judging by its designation, it is probably manufactured by the JSC Sukhoi Company.
