Elite heavy shock infantry. Based off of WW3 data “borrowed” from Superpower data banks, the UEC had a good idea of the high mortality of attacking infantry due to saturation artillery fire, and the relative success of Titans fielded by the NAU. Although they were hellishly expensive, sometimes malfunctioned in the middle of combat, and had a bunch of design flaws, operators still mowed down line after line of defenders, surviving hails of bullets and shrapnel.
Which led them to make Titans of their own, correcting the mistakes along the way.
3 Men/Squad
Capacity[]
Commandos carry nothing but their own ammunition, which makes them require medical aid and nourishment from friendly units.
Sensors[]
Visor-shielded eyeballs, helmet-muffed ears.
Weaponry[]
Milkor PDW Pod (12)[]
The Milkor PDW was originally designed for law enforcement use, being a small, compact weapon firing potent 5mm x 40mm AP caseless rounds. For the Commandos, however, Milkor got rid of the exterior casing, developed a magazine ejector, and crammed the weapon, along with three 80-round magazines into a small metal box. OWS mounted two onto each forearm section, giving each individual Commando four PDWs to use.
Upgrades[]
Weaponry[]
LAW-60 Pod[]
The Light Anti-tank Weapon-60 is a 60mm reusable HESH rocket launcher that is effective against light armor and field defenses. To provide Commandos with such capabilities, they get two pods of two rockets each, mounted onto their forearms, similar to the way the PDW Pods are mounted.
Protection[]
The Scorpion Powered Armor is the UEC's first step into the power-armor business. Built around a hydraulic dual-redundant non-invasive neural interface-controlled motor harness, OWS added in cable-motor harnesses based off of human muscle design to enhance reaction time, and, more importantly, to test the functionality of the system for “full-size application”. Aluminum, Ceramic and Kevlar are applied in layers around the motor harness for protection. Interestingly, the user's head is protected by an independent Protector Body Armor helmet. They are protected from 14.5mm AP and NBC threats.
Locomotion[]
Commandos wear the SPA, or Scorpion Powered Armor. Powered by a late 2040s minature LFTR, the suit has an effective life span of 4 years, and can provide Commandos with immense strength and mobility, able to keep up a full sprint for 60 minutes.
