Heaven Gate II

Ballistic missiles have a problem: they're big, fat targets for ABM systems. To remedy this, the PRC developed the Heaven Gate “天門” stealth IRBM. After the GNC, the new Chinese regime removed the nuclear warhead and put in some nasty surprises, allowing it to be a WMD for conventional warfare.

Force Composition[]

  • TEL/ Naval vessel

Sensory[]

Heaven Gate II relies on programmed targeting from its launcher to strike its target.

Upgrades[]

North Star Transponder[]

Add a North Star “北斗星” Asian-GPS transponder, providing it with a much higher level of accuracy.

Armament[]

Heaven Gate II[]

Heaven Gate II is the second IRBM in the Heaven Gate series of missiles. The original missile had a stealth-oriented shape and vents to allow it to quickly dissipate engine heat, cutting down on both its radar and IR signature. Finally, the nose had its own integrated cooling system that soaked up the heat caused by friction, greatly reducing effectiveness of IR-guided ABMs. Inertia serves as its primary guidance mechanism. The second generation packs two Thousand Knife cluster munition dispensers, each containing 200 HE/10 sensor-fused EFP submunitions. Delivered from 3000km away, the Heaven Gate II can clear upwards of a square kilometer of all enemy forces.

Upgrades[]

Only one can be deployed from a single missile at a time.

Bunker-Buster[]

Replace the two Thousand Knife cluster munition dispensers with a single 1500kg void-detonated HE-Zirconium warhead wrapped in 2500kg of hardened steel to crack any tough nut. Also quite useful verses massive ships.

Incendiary Payload[]

Replace the standard HE with White Phosphorous. Generating extreme temperatures in excess of 2700 degrees Celsius and liking to stick to human skin, WP can burn for sustained amounts of time and is a terrible, terrible way to die.

Protection[]

Depends on launching platform.
