Hydra

Multi-headed dragon that breathes fire and/or poison. Apparently the ones in GAC only breath fire.

The anti-tank backbone of GAC forces.

Squad Composition[]

  • Spotter/Commander
  • Ammunition Carrier/Gunner
  • Ammunition Carrier/Sentry

Sensory[]

Eyes and ears behind ballistic goggles, earplugs and earbuds.

Upgrades[]

None.

Armament[]

MP5 (2)[]

For close-quarters self defense, Hydras carry MP5 submachine guns. The HK MP5 is possibly the 20th century's most widespread SMG, coming in many variations. They all fire the 9mm x 19mm round, giving it enough firepower to seriously damage body tissue, but lacks the raw firepower to penetrate body armor. Hydras just spray and pray that a bullet or two will miss the body armor.

BGM-72 TOW 2 (1)[]

The BGM-72 TOW 2 is a tried-and-tested wire-guided (hence unjamable) ATGM. The TOW2 missile can reach out to 3750m and blow through 890mm of RHAe. Effective against vehicles at long range.

Upgrades[]

TOW 2B (1)[]

To counter the heaviest vehicles, Hydras can fire top-attack TOW 2B missiles. Flying over the top of the target vehicle and detonating its warhead downward into the target vehicle, the weapon can achieve 300 RHAe—more than enough to crack open the roof of most vehicles like tin cans.

Protection[]

Being higher-value backbone infantry, Hydra get PASGT/IOTV/MTV armor (with SAPI inserts) and US Army Universal Camouflage Pattern fatigues. They provide them with protection from shrapnel and rifle ammunition.

Upgrades[]

None.

Mobility[]

Hydras march on their feet, and due to lugging around massive packs and being higher-value infantry, they almost always get mechanization.

Upgrades[]

None.
