K-34

Use of the Japanese 767 AWACS back in the Great Nuclear Crisis proved just how effective airborne radar station are in combat.

After the IPC was founded, the Air Force immediately clamored for these huge flying radar arrays. The IPC selected the U-34 fuselage to modify, and turned out with a fuel-efficient, reduced radar-signature AEW&C station with exclusive direct communications capability to other aircraft in the region.

The IPC operated 10 K-34s in 2033.

Loadout[]

The K-34 has a “Smart Skin”, with seven massive X-band SAR-capable AESA arrays combining into one radar system. This provides it with an unrivaled detection angle of 360 degrees X,Y and Z. The K-34 is capable of finding F-16 Vipers at a distance of 750 kilometers, and has a ten-man crew to relay commands and radar data to friendly aircraft in the region, as well as home base.

Upgrades[]

None.

Armor[]

The K-34 has a healthy supply of chaff and flares. It also carries a basic radar jamming station to prevent missiles from hitting their target. It also carries a multiband radar jamming station and IR dazzler suite to prevent missiles from hitting their target.

Propulsion[]

The K-34 uses two license-produced General Electric GEnx-1B64 turbofan engines. They provide the AWACS the ability to cruse at 400mph for the next 24 hours without outside intervention. It can refuel in mid-air from a friendly neighborhood J-34 airborne tanker.
