M2126

M2126 Falcon ICV

The NAU held a competition to find its first universal Infantry Carrier Vehicle, or ICV. Strykers, VABs, and other vehicles competed, but the Falcon—a revision of the Boxer—by Rheinmetall succeeded in winning the competition, mostly thanks to its superior occupant protection.

Crew Composition[]

  • Driver
  • Commander/ Gunner
  • Bench, 3 Passengers
  • Bench, 3 Passengers

Titans count as 1.5 “normal” passengers each.

Sensory[]

Eyes, possibly wearing Grenadier helmets, behind bulletproof glass. A GPS Blue-force-tracker is standard.

Upgrades[]

Boomerang[]

The Boomerang is a specialized ECM system, designed to triangulate enemy fire. Using three acoustic sensors, the system can pinpoint even a suppressed sniper rifle from over 500m away.

Armament[]

M2 BMG(1)[]

Mounted on a rooftop remote weapons station, the trusty Ma Duce .50 caliber machine gun is soldiering past 110 years of age. Even so, it is still very reliable and deadly, firing a massive round. With a nightvision-capable TV camera for targeting, the vehicle's crew can utilize the weapon without ever leaving the vehicle. It is equipped with a 400-round magazine.

Upgrades[]

HK GMG (1)[]

Replaces the M2 with something much more explosive. The HK GMG is a weapon that can saturate a target 1000 meters away with 350 40mm x53mm M430A1 HEDP grenades a minute. Much more powerful than an M2, but cannot be used in close proximity to friendly forces due to the high probability of shredding both the enemy and the friendly.

Protection[]

The M2126 Falcon uses Advanced Modular Armor Protection, or AMAP. An advanced mixture of nanometric steels, Alumnium-Titanium alloys, and advanced ceramic plating, AMAP is more than twice as protective as RHA of the same thickness. The AMAP-B plating on the front, sides, rear and top of the Falcon protect it from anything up to 14.5mm x114mm rounds, while the AMAP-M armor module on its belly protects it from mines and IEDs. Finally, the entire interior is lined with AMAP-L, an advanced spall liner, to protect the occupants should the armor be penetrated.

Upgrades[]

AMAP-ADS[]

The Active-defense portion of the AMAP family, AMAP-ADS is the fastest-responding hardkill ECM system in the world. Consisting of 20 sensor/ directed-energy countermeasure modules that wrap around the vehicle, AMAP-ADS is capable of intercepting multiple projectiles, and even take out RPGs from a mere 50 meters. This system vastly increases the Falcon's survivability.

Mobility[]

The M2126 is powered by a 6.0-liter Direct-Injected twin-turbocharged diesel V8, providing an electric generator with 600 horsepower. The electricity is then directed to power six 100-hp motors in each of the vehicle's wheels. The extra energy is stored in a Lithium-polymer battery sitting just above the vehicle's one-piece frame. Using airless tires, the vehicle can hit 120kmph on finely paved roads, and retains 35kmph off-road.

Upgrades[]

None.
