Missile Technical

For anti-aircraft duties, warlords mount two MANPADS on a newer technical, give it better care, and send it out to harass helicopters.

Capacity[]

None.

Sensors[]

Eyes, normally behind clean windows. They normally also get binoculars.

Anti-Surface Weaponry[]

What?

Anti-Aircraft Weaponry[]

Challenger SAM (8)[]

The Challenger is an Oceanic man-portable SAM designed in WW3. Light enough to be transported by a single man, two Challenger SAM pods are bolted together and mated to a single thermal camera, providing the Missile Technical with the firepower it needs to engage helicopters and other low-flying threats. The Challenger SAM carries a 3-lb shape charge to a maximum of 15 kilometers at Mach 4.

Upgrades[]

Protection[]

Camouflage Netting[]

To make it less vulnerable to being spotted, camouflage netting can be applied on the Technical when it digs in and fights. It also introduces infrared-reflecting “blankets” to make it harder to pick up the vehicle after its been sitting in the sun for a day.

Protection[]

The Missile Technical's thin aluminum sheetmetal give its occupants little protection. However, it does not have a radar, making it harder for HASF aircraft to locate and destroy this vehicle with passive sensors.

Locomotion[]

Depending from where the vehicle is from (the vast majority is pre-WW3 and WW3-era Toyotas, the others mostly older OCR trucks shipped with ATGs,) each Technical's specific statistics vary. However, they are all capable of hitting 100 kmph on a paved road, are reliable enough for warlord usage, and degrade after about three years of care.
